- Update - Long Beach Clean Up- Join Soundkeeper for a Long Beach clean up in Stratford on Sat. Oct. 17th from 9am to 1pm. This barrier beach is in need of a trash pick up so that all can enjoy it's beauty. Also, check out Soundkeeper at Patagonia of Westport's "Voice your Choice" program to vote for us to get the largest portion of their $5,000 grant. (9/24/2009)
- Update - Oyster Video- Protecting the Harvest Fishermen pull a harvest of oysters and shellfish from the waters of Long Island Sound, but 25 years ago that harvest was threatened by pollution that was killing the livelihoods of the people who worked on the sound. (5:51)(9/13/2009)
Ad Hoc Pollution Monitoring & Patrol

Soundkeeper has built its reputation on addressing pollution problems as they arise by investigating, testing, and solving, or referring the problems to the proper authorities. We become aware of problems today through a network of stewards around the Sound, by reports from our pumpout operators, and from citizens like you. Often when citizens are not getting results by going directly to authorities, Soundkeeper can intervene and solve the problem largely because our reputation of only pursuing problems that are significant and real, and our willingness to do what is required to make sure these problems are solved.
